In a recent interview with a United Kingdom-based football website called DBLcoverage.com, the 29-year-old said, "I think that I've probably made the decision that I'm going to move forward and stop playing football."
Foxworth, who signed a four-year, $27.2 million contract with the Ravens in 2009, was cut by the team in March. The Randallstown native had played in just two games during the past two seasons after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a noncontact drill on the first day of training camp in 2010.
He was never able to return to full health after sustaining the injury, and he also admitted in the interview that he recently underwent hip surgery. If he does retire, Foxworth can remain president of the NFLPA until 2014.
