Darren Sproles, Saints running back
It was the second week of the 2009 NFL season when Lewis once more displayed the anticipation and aggressiveness that defined his career.
In a tackle he characterized as one of the best of his career, Lewis preserved a road victory over the Chargers by shooting through the center-guard gap to knock down running back Darren Sproles, now with the New Orleans Saints, for a 5-yard loss on fourth-and-2 with 30 seconds remaining.
"That just shows that Ray really watches film and he's really a smart player," Sproles said. "We ran that play the whole game, and he finally just shot the gap and he read it right. You play against Ray, you better be ready to go hard the whole game."
