Honorable mention for this week's Reader SunShots series "Somewhere warm" goes to Jean Wimmer for a picture shot while exploring the beach town of Santa Cruz, CA. The photographer took this picture with a Canon EOS Rebel T1i. Here is a critique by Baltimore Sun director of photography, Robert Hamilton: "The reason I picked this picture was the photographer used a technique that can be very effective in elevating routine pictures. It's called framing, which helps to direct the viewer's eye to the point of focus, in this case the scenic beach. So when you are looking to make your pictures interesting try using this approach. It can be done with a archway, as was the case here, or with trees."
