He's the other part of the Guthrie deal, and he'll be placed in the back end of the club's bullpen. It's likely he'll pick up some save chances along with Jim Johnson and perhaps Kevin Gregg. Lindstrom is 32 and has twice been a closer, with the Florida Marlins in 2009 (15 saves) and the 2010 Houston Astros (23 saves). His fastball can hit 97 mph, but he has struggled with control in the past, though that seems to be improving. Again, he's not an eye-popping addition, but he likely will be a serviceable reliever.
