Chad Ochocinco plans to stay busy by wrangling lethal snakes

First soccer. Then professional bull riding. And now snake wrangling. Yes, it’s been a busy and bizarre offseason for your favorite Bengals wide receiver, Chad Ochocinco, who has decided to turn the recent criticism from Cincinnati owner Mike Brown into inspiration for his excellent adventure of the month.

On Tuesday, Brown sarcastically criticized the outspoken wide receiver for his forays into other sports during the lockout.  "He's going to do the things he does. Next maybe he'll be a snake wrangler and we'll watch to see if he gets bit," Brown said. "He's always up to some stunt. They amuse me in a way."

Prepare to be amused some more, Mr. Brown. Ochocinco took to Twitter on Wednesday to reveal that at his employer’s request, he will jump into a pit with dangerous snakes and attempt to channel his inner Steve Irwin.

"I'm going to be a #SnakeWrangler, I got the awesome idea from my owner, catching a Black Mamba and a King Cobra #EPIC," Ochocinco said on Twitter. "Does anyone know these snakes I'm gonna catch, Taipan, Blue Krait, Eastern Brown Snake, Rattle Snake and the Death Adder."

Even if he doesn’t suffer a fatal snake bite, it seems very unlikely we will be seeing Ochocinco in the AFC North next year. Bengals brass appears to be fed up with the Twitter-happy wide receiver, and the team selected Georgia wide receiver A.J. Green with the fourth overall pick in last month’s NFL draft.

The Ravens won’t be sad to see Ochocinco go -- unless he goes via Black Mamba. He has averaged 75.6 receiving yards per game against the Ravens and he has scored seven touchdowns in 18 meetings. The way he runs his mouth, you would figure he has scored 70 touchdowns against the Ravens in his career.

I’ll give him credit for keeping things interesting during the lockout, though, even if took getting thrown from a raging bull.
