Ramona Singer knows a thing or two about being camera-ready.
As one of the original cast members of "The Real Housewives of New York," Singer is used to being in the public eye. That means being Paparazzi-prepared.
Singer isn't trying to chance being included on anyone's worst dressed list. So she makes sure she keeps on top of trends at events. That means going to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
We caught up with the television personality at the Walter Baker show at Lincoln Center. Singer was wearing one of Baker's designs - a form-fitting blue dress. Her look was on trend and she looked ready for her close-up.
Unlike other "Housewives," Singer actually has legitimate couture cred because of her fashion background. She attended the famed Fashion Institute of Technology and worked as a buyer for Macy's before working for French Connection and Calvin Klein. She currently has a jewelry line, True Faith Jewelry, which is sold through the Home Shopping Network.
Singer said she plans to take advantage of one of the color of the fall season - Olympian blue. At Fashion's Night Out, Singer wore a blue dress from Catherine Malandrino, with a pair of cobalt blue suede shoes, and a "Madison" shoulder bag by Danielle Nicole, a company founded by Marylander Danielle DiFerdinando.
"Women's Wear Daily predicted it," Singer said. (Pantone also named Olympian blue as one of its top colors of the fall.) "It's my favorite color. You'll see me wearing a lot of that. I love the fact that it is one of the top colors this season."
What's Singer's secret to appearing so fabulous on camera?
"I know that I'm older, but I like to look youthful," she said. "Because I'm petite, I like things that show off my figure."
