US Lacrosse has named Stevenson men's lacrosse head coach Paul Cantabene and assistant coach Tim Puls as speakers at the US Lacrosse National Convention, which will take place Jan. 11-13 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
"US Lacrosse continues to focus on improving the quality of the lacrosse experience for all and bringing to the convention many of the sport's leaders in coaching and officiating to share their knowledge with colleagues at the youth and high school levels supports that focus," said Beth Porreca, director of special events at US Lacrosse.
"Coach Cantabene and Coach Puls have distinguished records in lacrosse, and we're excited to have them speak at our convention."
Cantabene, who retired from a six-year
Stevenson's winningest coach in both wins and percentage, Cantabene boasts a 115-35 career record in eight seasons. He earned his 100th career win on March 3, 2012, becoming the second-fastest in
Puls, a 30-year coaching veteran, will host "Defensive Techniques to Win Championships" at 9 a.m. on Jan. 13. His presentation will include tips for coaches to emphasize positioning and technique while adding creativity to lacrosse defense.
Puls was the 2009 NCAA Division III Assistant Coach of the Year and won the 1991 NJCAA National Championship while serving as the head coach at CCBC-Essex.

Stevenson was ranked No. 1 in Division III in the Inside Lacrosse 2013 Face-Off Yearbook Top 20. Two-time defending champion Salisbury was third, behind 2012 runner-up Cortland State.
Towson names captains, will hold 'Earn Your Stripes' event
Senior Andrew Wascavage (St. Mary's Ryken), juniors Thomas DeNapoli and John Paukovits and sophomore Rob Zoppo (Calvert Hall) have been selected as Towson captains. Also, the team will host the second annual "Earn Your Stripes" night Jan. 19. The event, which marks the beginning of the season, will be held at the West Village Commons Fourth Floor Ballrooms on the Towson campus.
