Baltimore Summer Restaurant Week continues through Sunday. But just as they do every year, some restaurants will be extending their special $20 and $30 prix-fixe menus beyond the official end date of the 10-day promotion.
The extenders will be noted on the dining promotion's official website later this week, but we have a preliminary list for you from Downtown Partnership, one of the promotion's producers. Most of these restaurants will continue to offer their special fixed-price menus for one week, but some will run them even longer. You'll have to do some calling around to make sure.
Among the extenders are Alizee American Bistro, Brio Tuscan Grille, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Ciao Bella, Creme Restaurant & Lounge, Da Mimmo, Dick's Last Resort, Donna's, Elkridge Furnace Inn and Forno.
Also extending their deals are Germano's Piattini, Jimmy's Famous Seafood, Marie Louise Bistro, Matsuri, McCormick & Schmick's, Mo's Crab & Pasta Factory, Ozra, Rowhouse Grille, Sabatino's, Sascha's and Waterfront Kitchen.
• Not every restaurant who's doing Restaurant Week will be extending. Some places are moving on. Starting Aug. 20, Fleet Street Kitchen will start up a new Wednesday night series called Tastings in the Tavern Room. Every month or so, the restaurant's chef Nate Magat will come up with a new a la carte menu inspired by regional cuisines from around the world.
The first stop on the global culinary tour is Italy (Aug. 13-Sept. 3), with upcoming menus devoted to Spain (Sept. 10-Oct. 1) and the Greek Mediterranean (Oct. 8 - Nov. 29).
The special Wednesday menu will only be available in Fleet Street Kitchen's casual Tavern Room.
• Baltimore County Restaurant Week starts Friday and runs through Aug. 24. More than 60 restaurants are participating in the eighth annual summer dining promotion, offering special brunch, lunch and dinner menus ranging from $10 to $35.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
