Spring has sprung winner

The winner for this week's Reader SunShots series, "Spring Has Sprung," goes to Tim Shelton for his picture titled "Welcome Rain." The photographer took this picture with a Canon EOS Rebel with a 18-55mm lens. Shelton was experimenting with depth of field and other settings on his camera as he looked for pictures. Here is a critique by Baltimore Sun director of photography Robert Hamilton:

"Photography is a constant learning process, and the best lessons are often obtained through experimentation. This photographer was able to produce a very nice picture that captured the feeling of spring while expanding his photographic knowledge."
