Terrell Suggs has enjoyed the fruits of his labor.
In 2003, the outside linebacker was the Defensive Rookie of the Year. He's been to the Pro Bowl four times (2004, 2006, 2008, 2010), an AFC Defensive Player of the Month (November 2010) and a two-time AFC Defensive Player of the Week (Week 7, 2008 and Week 1, 2011).
But with his three sacks of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in the Ravens' 35-7 demolition of the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday, Suggs became the franchise's all-time leader in sacks with 71.5. It's an honor that Suggs reflected on during a group interview Wednesday.
“It’s very flattering because that’s one of the few things you see as soon as you walk in the building is the guys that are all-time leaders of the organization [with game balls in the players’ entrance]," he said. "I’m honored that my name can go up there. It’s very flattering, and I’m glad to have it. But I’ve got a bigger goal in mind, so I hope I can add this to that list.”Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
