Torrey Smith amused by Steelers CB Ike Taylor's trash talking

Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith's approach to the game largely involves silence.

The former Maryland standout doesn't believe in exchanging barbs with opponents, preferring to focus on the job at hand without any additional remarks.

That isn't how Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Ike Taylor operates on the field.

The veteran defensive back tries to get into the heads of opposing wide receivers through a variety of colorful remarks.

During the first game with Pittsburgh this season, Smith was held to one catch for 7 yards while enduring a lot of noise from Taylor.

Some of Taylor's constant jabbering actually amused Smith, who's determined to make a bigger impact against him today at M&T Bank Stadium.

"He's a great player, he talks trash," Smith said. "For me, somebody who doesn't talk, sometimes it will get to you a little bit. He talks about stuff outside the game, just stuff that completely has nothing to do with playing.

"I have a lot of respect for him. Once he realized I don't really talk trash, it was pretty cool. Like I said, I have a lot of respect for him. I'm looking forward to it."
