Leave it to the LA Phil to come up with an exciting new series designed to expand your enjoyment of orchestral music at Walt Disney Concert Hall. A ticket to Inside the Music offers much more than brilliant performances by the world-class Los Angeles Philharmonic. Ticket holders also gain access to an array of enhancements designed to help them delve deeper and get more out of their musical encounter than ever before. With KUSC deejay Brian Lauritzen as host and guide, the series includes exclusive behind-the-scenes videos emailed a week before each concert, educational pre-concert presentations, personal insight from the musicians, and even an online game to bring it all together.

The inaugural Inside the Music concert will be a blockbuster, built around the 10th birthday celebration of Walt Disney Concert Hall’s stunning pipe organ. On Friday, Nov. 21, the LA Phil’s renowned music director Gustavo Dudamel will lead the orchestra in music by American composers Samuel Barber and Stephen Hartke, and conclude with Saint-Saëns’ thrilling “Organ” symphony. Joining in during the evening will be maverick organ virtuoso Cameron Carpenter, who will also demonstrate his awesome talent in a solo work: his own transcription of a sonata by Scriabin. Tickets to this extraordinary concert, plus all the Inside the Music extras, are available at www.laphil.com.
