72 Hours of Dining in Los Cabos

Share

Once an old fishing village and mission with a few sleepy cantinas, Los Cabos has not only become a breathtaking seaside resort, it’s also a restaurant paradise. Whether you crave fresh grilled lobster, organic farm-to-table dining or auténtico Mexican classics, these Los Cabos eateries top our list of Baja’s best.

EL FARALLON, THE RESORT AT PEDREGAL, CABO SAN LUCAS

A cliff-side sunset, seafood by candlelight and tropical craft cocktails set the scene for a memorably romantic evening. El Farallon’s Baja Bounty tasting menu, designed for two, is a bit of a splurge. But the selections, which change daily with the local catch, are truly lavish, with choices that include ceviche, lobster and rib-eye steak.

TAQUERIA ROSSY, SAN JOSÉ DEL CABO

The blue-checked tablecloths and plain-wrap storefront are anything but fancy. But if you’re craving traditional tacos, locals know the place to go is Taqueria Rossy. There’s a wide variety of Los Cabos seafood — chocolate clams, fresh scallops, smoked marlin — and the condiment bar has a huge selection of salsas and garnishes, so you can spice up your tacos to taste. Enjoy it all with an ice-cold cerveza.

ACRE, ÁNIMAS BAJAS

With its Zen-like architecture, 25-acre organic farm and culinary sophistication, Acre adds a new dimension to the Los Cabos dining scene. Executive chefs Kevin Luzande and Oscar Torres, who trained in Los Angeles, New York and Europe, bring imagination and urban refinement to their farm-to-table cuisine. Try the seven-course tasting menu, whose farm-fresh offerings change daily, or try the Sunday all-you-can-eat barbecue.

LA LUPITA TACO & MEZCAL, SAN JOSÉ DEL CABO

This trendy eatery buzzes with upbeat energy and has live music on weekends. They bill themselves as a dive bar, but their take on food and drink is definitely elevated — mezcal flights, tamarindo martinis with a worm-salt rim, and amazing duck tacos. If you’re feeling adventurous, start with a fried grasshopper appetizer.

SUNSET DA MONA LISA, CABO SAN LUCAS

An Italian restaurant in Los Cabos? Absolutely. The setting and atmosphere are spectacular, and Chef Paolo Della Corte’s resume includes several Michelin-starred restaurants in Europe. His continental menu features dishes like black truffle tagliatelle and roasted tuna with caramelized endive and Campari. No wonder an international edition of the New York Times named this one of “The Coolest Restaurants in the World.”
