Watershed stewards needed Potential volunteers can get information about the Watershed Stewards Academy from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Pascal Senior Activity Center, 125 Dorsey Road in Glen Burnie. The academy trains community leaders to serve as Master Watershed Stewards in the protection, restoration, and conservation of watersheds, working to reduce the negative impacts of storm water runoff in the county. Benefit The National
Golf tournament Hospice of the Chesapeake invites all area golfers to its annual fundraiser on Oct. 6 at Queenstown Harbor Golf Course in Queenstown. Tournament contests include an opportunity to win a Mercedes-Benz with a hole-in-one, as well as a $2,000 cash prize raffle.
Registration is $250 per person and $900 for foursomes, which includes greens fees, cart, a continental breakfast, lunch, awards banquet, contests and prizes. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Proceeds will be used to support programs and services offered by Hospice of the Chesapeake in Anne Arundel and Prince George's counties.
