While we fondly look back on the mid-aughts as "Wire"-spotting time in town (look, Marlo at my gym's treadmill! Bubs at BWI!), we were famous-folk deficient for awhile. But over the past couple years, there's been an influx of major Hollywood projects -- and celebrity sightings. David Fincher has filmed "The Social Network" here and the upcoming Netflix series "House of Cards" around Mount Vernon. Julia Louis-Dreyfus was around for "Veep," and "Game Change" rambled through the area. Common shot an indie film downtown; Chazz Palmentieri opened an eatery in Harbor East. And notable Food Network and Travel Channel shows have discovered that -- shock! -- we have some distinctive, fine restaurants. We're not saying seeing Kate Mara walk alone up North Charles Street gets us into a tizzy. But it makes Charm City a bit more unpredictable.
