When I was in my 20s, I asked my father the difference between the. He told me the Republicans live in the past and the Democrats always look to the future. I am now 84 years old and I believe he was right. Since Mr. Ehrlich's party is still in shock over the last election, some keep saying they just didn't explain themselves enough. Now is Mr. Ehrlich's chance to explain the party's thinking to me as to why we should vote for a Republican.
As for me, I voted for a party that sees the changes in the world, understands how to help those in need without the judgment typical of the GOP. You know the judgment as old as the world: "They made their bed, let them lie in it." How dare Republican politicians tell me what I can or cannot do in my bedroom or how we should treat those of different gender or who can marry and who can't or what religion is the right one to follow. These same people would "fix" children's textbooks to govern their minds, to sway the right to vote the way we choose, etc.
I'm so tired of watching grown men spend their time playing in their sandboxes, and that applies to both parties. Don't call me a "taker." What do you know about my life? There may be plenty of people who call themselves Christian who want to run this country, but I bet few of them know Jesus who said, "take the log out of your own eye before you judge another." Enough said.
