'Art in the Mills'
Nine artists are featured in a multicultural art show running through Sunday, Sept. 25, at The Other Barn, Oakland Mills Village Center, 5851 Robert Oliver Place. A reception being from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 25 will include refreshments, music, children's activities and a kinetic sculpture exhibit. The show and reception are free. The Columbia Art Center will offer landscape painting classes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, through Oct. 18. Instructor Chaya Schapiro will focus on the fundamentals of drawing, value and color. A demonstration with oil paint will be held during each class. The cost is $130, $120 for Columbia residents. The center will also offer classes in basic watercolor painting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, through Nov. 9. The cost is $135, $125 for Columbia residents.
