Hazardous weather workshop The Department of Recreation & Parks and Office of Emergency Management presents a workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the James N. Robey Public Safety Training Center, 2200 Scott Wheeler Drive in Marriottsville. This free workshop is for athletic directors, coaches, referees, and outdoor activity directors, and covers hazardous weather, crowd dynamics and tips on how to handle decisions to stop play or cancel an outdoor event.

Health and wellness The 3rd annual "WomenFest," a wellness event for women, will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Gary J. Arthur Community Center, 2400 Route 97 in Cooksville. Event focuses on health, wellness, fashion and beauty, and is designed to inspire women to live more balanced, healthier and fuller lives.
