A three-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon caused two Maryland drivers to be sent to area hospitals.

Officers found three vehicles in the intersection with heavy damage: a silver 2011 Chrysler 300, a blue 2004 Toyota Highlander and a brown UPS 2001 Freightliner Diesel delivery truck.
Their report stated that the Highlander was heading east on Route 100, approaching Magothy Bridge Road, when the driver of the Chrysler, traveling on Magothy Bridge Road, turned left against a red light.
According to police, the Highlander struck the Chrysler and the Chrysler struck the UPS truck.

, 55, of the 4700 block of Henshaw Lane in Pasadena, received injuries and was transported by helicopter to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he is in serious condition, according to the police department. The driver of the Chrysler, Robert Frederick Risley, 72, of the 600 block of Simms Landing Road in Crownsville, received no injuries, according to the police report.
