Seized from one home in the 100 block of W. Washington St. were about 144 grams of
And in a home in the first block of Pleasant St., police seized more than 8 grams of heroin and less than a gram of cocaine. Robert Taylor, 44, of Annapolis was arrested at the home.
About $17,000 also was seized from the homes.
Police Chief Michael A. Pristoop said the quantities of drugs seized in the homes appeared to be significant enough to disrupt the drug trade locally.
The searches grew out of a brief investigation that was launched by complaints in the community, he said. He said it is not clear whether the drug activity suspected at the two homes is connected.
Both homes searched are in the Clay Street community, an area that includes public housing and that the city's housing authority,
Both handguns had been reported stolen, police said, and Pristoop described them as "loaded and ready for use."
Drug charges were lodged against Marshall and Taylor. Marshall, who gave police a different address in Annapolis from where he was arrested, was released after posting $40,000 bond. Taylor was jailed in lieu of $45,000 bond, police said.
