Several witnesses described to police how Kyle Nolan Tanner, of no fixed address, walked into a showing of
People fled the Annapolis theater, as did Tanner, who fled north on Route 2. He was arrested in the area of Old Solomons Island Road and Forest Drive.
Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy said the suspect apparently went to the theater to watch a movie, but he could not say Tanner bought a ticket.
The incident comes shortly after 12 people were killed and 58 were injured when a gunman opened fire during a showing of the "The Dark Knight Rises" at a theater in Aurora, Colo., which prompted police departments in the area to increase police presence at theaters.
Tanner has been charged with disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and second degree assault. He is being held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center in Annapolis.
