7 hospitalized after car collides with special needs bus

Seven people were hospitalized Sunday morning after a vehicle collided with a "mobility" bus that was transporting five special-needs passengers, Anne Arundel County fire and police officials said.

The two-vehicle accident — which occurred on College Parkway near Peninsula Farm Road, in the

area of Anne Arundel County — was reported around 8:23 a.m., according to Anne Arundel Fire Division Chief

All of the victims were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries, Cox said.

The mobility bus was occupied by a driver and five special-needs passengers, Cox said. The patients were taken by the county's medical ambulance bus to Anne Arundel Medical Center in

Annapolis

. The driver was transported by ambulance.

The other vehicle was occupied only by the driver, who was taken by ambulance to Baltimore-Washington Medical Center, Cox said.

Further details were not immediately available. Anne Arundel police are investigating.
