A Baltimore County woman was fatally shot while standing in the front yard of a Northeast Baltimore home early Sunday morning, one of two overnight shootings in the area, police said.
At around 2:15 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 4800 block of the Alameda and found 22-year-old Larelle Amos of Baltimore County suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Police said Amos was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police said that Amos was attending a house party and was standing in the front yard when she was shot; they said they do not believe she was the intended target of the shooting. Police said they had no motive or suspects in the case.
In the second incident, officers arrived at the 2800 block of Clifton Park Terrace at 10:45 p.m. Saturday in response to a report of a shooting and found medics treating a 30-year-old male who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the upper right back.
Police said the victim, a delivery man, had been making a food delivery when three males approached the passenger side of his vehicle. One pulled a handgun and began shooting the driver through the passenger's side, police said. The victim managed to drive away, striking several vehicles, before reaching Belair Road, where he summoned help, police said. The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he is expected to make a full recovery, police said.Copyright © 2015, Los Angeles Times
