The man's injuries were not considered to be life-threatening, police said.
A second victim was found in the 1300 block of Caroline Street in Oliver about 9 p.m. with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, police said. Oliver was among the city's most violent neighborhoods in 2012, with at least seven shootings, according to Baltimore Sun crime data.
City police reported a quiet New Year's Eve, with no major incidents throughout the city.
Police on Wednesday released the name of the city's last murder victim of 2012. Terry Nelson, a 24-year-old man from the 2100 block Koko Lane, was pronounced dead at 9:37 p.m. Monday at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
He had been shot Sunday afternoon in the 2100 block of Bryant Avenue near Mondawmin Mall in West Baltimore. Police said he was shot multiple times in the head and limb and had been found unresponsive near the interesection of Bryant Avenue and Reisterstown Road.
Police said a "hooded figure" was described running from a nearby alley carrying a rifle, Sgt. Anthony Smith said. Police have no suspects.
