A 23-year-old man and his 4-year-old daughter were shot while sitting in a vehicle in
Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and were driven to Franklin Square Hospital by a family member, police said. The hospital notified police about 8:17 p.m., and officers were told the shooting occurred near the intersection of Old Home and Meadow roads, police said.
A third person, the driver, was also in the vehicle at the time of the shooting but was unharmed, police said. That person drove the victims to the home of the 23-year-old man, and the family member drove them to the hospital from there.
Police revised the location of the shooting Tuesday morning, after initially reporting it as having occurred in the 4900 block of Hazelwood Avenue near the Hazelwood Inn, which is a short distance away.
Police do not believe the shooting was random, but provided no further information. The investigation is ongoing.
The double shooting was one of two incidents of gunfire in the county overnight.

As one of the gunmen "detained" the employees in the front of the store, the other took the manager to an office at the rear of the store, demanding cash, police said.
A "struggle" then began between the two men and the gun discharged, police said, and the manager was struck in the chest.
