Officers were first called to the nearby Kmart store at 2:20 p.m., and remained outside the distribution center until about 7 p.m., after Duncan was subdued with a Taser.
Police evacuated about 45 people from the business; Duncan did no take any hostages. Police recovered a knife, said police spokeswoman Elise Armacost. Duncan threatened that he had a gun, but one has not been recovered, she said.
After he left the store, police said Duncan then ran to a home in the 7700 block of Eastdale Road, where he threw a rock through the window and fled out the back door of the home and ran into the business at the 7600 block of Canton Center Drive.
Police said they kept an open communication with Duncan throughout the standoff.
He was charged with burglary, trespassing, malicious destruction of property, and five counts of false imprisonment. He's being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
