The following timeline, assembled from Sun clips, Anne Arundel County Police records and SafeRoadMaps (an aggregator and cartographer of federal crash data), shows summaries of fatal crashes on Mountain Road in Pasadena. Oct. 16: JB Cobb, 74, of Pasadena died when his Dodge Ram truck crashed into two other vehicles at Magothy Beach Road. The crash remains under investigation, and police say the cause may have been a medical emergency. It is not clear whether the crash will be classified as a highway fatality.
Oct. 12: Kala Marie Austin, 17, of Pasadena, died after her car crashed into the side of a vacant house just off Mountain Road near Fairwood Court. Police said speed and wet weather may have been a contributing factor in the single-vehicle crash.
Jan. 27: Robert Francis Oles, 77, a Pasadena pedestrian, was struck and killed by a snowplow near Hog Neck Road. Believed to be alcohol-related. Driver convicted of hit-and-run but not charged with alcohol offense because too much time had elapsed for tests.
Aug. 27: Robert Rudloff Jr., 32, a motorcyclist, went off road near Fairwood Road and hit a utility pole. Speed and alcohol believed to be factors.
Nov. 29: Jason Tucker Coburn, 19, and Michael Joseph Medura, 21, of Pasadena were killed when their Dodge Ram truck failed to negotiate a curve near Meehling Road and struck two trees. Speed and alcohol were listed as factors in the single-vehicle crash.
Nov. 11: Michael Walter Brumwell, 60, of Pasadena was killed when struck by an SUV while walking across Mountain Road from the Cheers of Pasadena bar near Brookfield Road in a crash that was ruled pedestrian error.
Feb. 24.: Chesapeake High School seniors Robert Allen Flowers, 19, and Jonathan Paul Sekinger, 18, both of Pasadena, died when their car struck a utility pole near Carol Drive. Speed was called a factor.
Oct. 13: Joseph Selby, 24, of Pasadena was killed when the car he was driving went off the road near Old Mountain Road. Alcohol, speed and failure to use a seat belt were believed to be factors.
April 6: Steven James Rackey, 51, of Pasadena died when his motorcycle struck the back of a stopped truck near Maryland Avenue. Police said the victim failed to control his speed to avoid a collision.
April 16: William Gorman Smith, 52, of Pasadena was killed when his motorcycle struck a telephone pole while he was trying to avoid a bicyclist near Pinehurst Lane.
Jan. 22: Robert Lee Gordon, 61, of Pasadena was killed while walking on a parking lot off Mountain Road near Penn Drive when he was struck by a minivan that had been had been turning into a gas station when it was hit by another car, forcing it into the victim. Alcohol use by one of the drivers, who later pleaded no contest to negligent homicide, was involved.
Dec. 13: Lance Edward Mitchell, 37, of Pasadena was hit by a pickup truck while crossing the road after leaving a bar in the 2800 block. Police said he had been drinking.
July 13: Pedestrian Alton Davis Slay III, 34, of Pasadena was hit by an SUV while walking near North Shore Road. Alcohol use by the driver was reported.
Christopher Paul Schultz, 12, died when a Jeep ran a stop sign coming out of Chesapeake High School and rammed the side of the truck in which he was riding.
Nov. 25: Kelley Ann Airey, 16, of Pasadena was killed when the pickup truck in which she was a passenger fishtailed across the highway and struck a tree near Ritchie Highway. The 20-year-old driver lost control while when another car darted in front of the truck, police said.
Sept. 7: William Alan Armetrout, 31, of Pasadena was killed when his van sideswiped a telephone pole and crashed into a tree in the 4700 block of Mountain Road in front of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church. Police said he had been drinking.
March 1: Brian James Beacom, 29, of Glen Burnie was struck by a hit-and-run driver while walking across Mountain Road near Mansion House Crossing.
May 1: Mark A. Uhlig, 26, of Arbutus was killed when the driver of the car in which he was a passenger lost control of the car near Route 10 and hit a utility pole. The 25-year-old driver, who had been drinking, was sentenced to six months for homicide by motor vehicle.
April 19: Steven George Meyers, 29, of Pasadena was killed when he lost control of his motorcycle in the 4400 block of Mountain Road and hit metal markers. Police said alcohol appeared to be a factor.
