flight to Atlanta returned to Baltimore late Monday afternoon after passengers smelled smoke in the cabin, an airline spokesman said.
Though pilots did not declare an emergency, Flight 1425 turned back shortly after taking off and landed around 5 p.m. at Baltimore-Washington International
airport, according to Delta's Eric Torbenson. No injuries were reported.
The flight was scheduled to resume late Monday night with a replacement MD-80 aircraft, Torbenson said, but in the meantime all but 27 of the plane's 149 original passengers switched to other flights rather than wait.
