A 68-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning while walking at the intersection of
Edmond Dabney was walking with a woman when they were approached at about 4 a.m. by a man who asked if they had any money, police spokesman Det. Donny Moses said. An argument ensued and the man pulled a handgun and fired one shot into the air, Moses said.
Shortly thereafter, Moses said, the suspect fired at Dabney, striking him in the head. The man fled on foot, Moses said.
The victim was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he died shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday, Moses said.
Police have no information on suspects, Moses said.
