A 10 year-old-girl died in a southeast Baltimore fire, in one of three blazes firefighters battled Saturday night.
The fatal fire occurred about 11 p.m. in the 6600 block of Hartwait Ave., near the city line and
Firefighters searched the house on a report of a missing child upon arriving to the scene, but because of unsafe conditions were ordered to fight the blaze from outside the home. The fire was brought under control by about 11:45 p.m., after which firefighters found the girl on the first floor of the two-story home.

Firefighters, fire investigators and police arson detectives were on the scene early Sunday to perform assessments into the cause of this fire. It was undetermined whether or not the home had smoke alarms. The investigation continued during the day Sunday.
