A passenger in a Maryland Transit Authority mobility vehicle suffered minor injuries when the vehicle slid off the roadway in Baltimore County on Interstate 83 South at the outer loop ramp of I-695, according to an MTA official.
MTA spokesman Terry Owens said the incident, which occurred about 10:15 a.m., was due to wet conditions on the roadway. He said the vehicle slid off the road and into a wooded area. The passenger in the vehicle was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Towson, and the driver was not injured in the incident, Owens said.
Additionally, Maryland State Police said on Monday morning that one person was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle collision on MD 194 at Reifsnider Road.
State Police Trooper Jordan Snedeker said that the name of the person killed in the incident is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. He added that the injured person was transported to Sinai Hospital, though he did not know the extent of the person's injuries.
MD 194 remained closed as of 1 p.m., and investigators are still on the scene, Snedeker said. The state Department of Transportation initially reported the incident at 8:06 a.m.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
