commercials, though the company's primary business is registering and hosting websites. Parsons, a
native and 1975 UB graduate, said he wanted to introduce the professorship because "there is so much potential for entrepreneurs online right now."
Parsons also plans to deliver some lectures himself, both in person and online. He envisions courses, which could be available as early as this fall, focusing on everything from online marketing to etiquette in the digital realm.
"There are such changes in the way the world is going," UB president Robert L. Bogomolny said. "It's important for the university to be more forward-looking in the way we deal with the digital era."
Bogomolny said he envisions the digital communications professor working with both graduate and undergraduate students.
