Morgan State (3-7, 2-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) vs. Hampton (2-7, 2-5 MEAC)

When: Saturday, 1 p.m.

Site: Hughes Stadium

Radio: 88.9 FM

Series: Morgan State leads, 36-23-2

What's at stake: In the final game of the season, Morgan State just wants a win. The Bears' losing streak stretched to five last week with a 30-0 defeat at Norfolk State Hampton has struggled just as much this season, opening the season with four straight losses and currently riding a two-game skid. Both squads would be happy to end their respective seasons with a victory.

Key Matchup: The Bears need to take advantage of the Pirates' disposition to turn over the ball. Hampton has given up the ball 29 times this season (15 fumbles, 14 interceptions), and the Pirates rank last in the MEAC in forcing turnovers with only 12.

Player to Watch: The last time Morgan cornerback Joe Rankin recorded an interception, it was in early October against Savannah State. Nonetheless, Rankin is still tied for first in the conference with four picks on the season. On Saturday, Rankin will be going against Travis Champion, a quarterback who has more interceptions (9) than touchdowns (8). Seeing as the Pirates have trouble holding on to the ball, this could be a good matchup for Rankin to add to his interception total.
