Bee Hive Maintenance

Tuesday, 4:30 p.m. Eden Mill Nature Center, 1617 Eden Mill Road, Pylesville. Head beekeeper Cybil Preston demonstrates hive maintenance and answers questions about honeybees, crop management, pests and disease. No registration or fee. Hunter sight-ins

Starting Oct. 8. The Baltimore County Game & Fish Protective Association at 3400 Northwind Road in Baltimore is offering hunter sight-ins on the following dates in preparation for deer season: muzzleloader, Oct. 8, 9a.m.-3 p.m.; shotgun and rifle: Nov. 5, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Nov. 6, noon-3 p.m.; Nov. 12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Nov. 19, 9a.m.-3 p.m.; Nov. 20, noon-3 p.m.. Race for the Cure

Oct. 23. Executive Plaza parking lots (across Shawan Road from Hunt Valley Towne Centre), 11350 McCormick Road, Hunt Valley. Susan G. Komen Maryland Race For the Cure, includes competitive 5K run, recreational 5K run, 5K walk and 1mile family fun walk. Event benefits local programs that offer a comprehensive range of breast health service, from screening and treatment to support services, and helps fund national research.
