Rookie cornerback Asa Jackson, a fifth-round draft pick out of Cal Poly, has been back with the team after missing all three weeks of voluntary team activities as he finished up spring classes.
"It was kind of nice to be home with my family, but it was real hard for me because I wanted to be out here with my teammates, getting all the reps that I could," said Jackson, who also excelled as a return specialist in college. "Even though I had my playbook with me, it's not the same. … I'm really happy to be back. The live bullets are tough, but that's what going to help."
Jackson, who attended last month's rookie minicamp, will be in the mix at cornerback, but he will have to contribute on special teams to make the 53-man roster out of training camp.
