Rashad Whack scored 17 of his team-high 19 points in the second half to lead fifth-seeded Mount St. Mary's to a 75-69 win at fourth-seeded host Bryant in the Northeast Conference tournament quarterfinals Wednesday night.
The Mount (17-13) rallied from a seven-point halftime deficit.
Trailing 39-32 early in the second half, the Mount went on a 7-0 run to even the score at 39. Shivaughn Wiggins started the streak with a three-point play, and Kristijan Krajina and Whack added baskets to cap the run.
Whack made a 3-pointer to put the Mount ahead 42-41 with 13:42 left in the game. It was the Mount's first lead since 4-2. After a 3-pointer by Frankie Dobbs gave the Bulldogs (19-11) the lead back, Whack made another 3-pointer to put the Mount ahead 45-44 with just over 12minutes remaining.
The lead changed hands three more times before an 11-2 run gave the Mount a 58-50 advantage with 6:28 on the clock.
Bryant got back-to-back baskets from Vlad Kondratyev to make it 58-54. Norfleet silenced the crowd with a 3-pointer for a 61-54 advantage with 5:00 left. Bryant cut the gap to 65-61 with three minutes left, but Wiggins converted a drive and hit two free throws with 1:28 left to push the lead back to eight.
Bucknell 58, Navy 42: The top-seeded host Bison (26-5) led throughout and easily defeated the eighth-seeded Midshipmen (8-23) in the quarterfinals of the Patriot League tournament at Sojka Pavilion in Lewisburg, Pa.
Mike Muscala compiled 15 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Bison, who shot 39 percent from the field (17-for-44) and made just two of 14 3-pointers, but were never threatened by a young Mids squad.
The Seahawks fell to 3-25, 2-15.
