Boys' Latin senior guard Casey Rees scored a season-high 29 points to lead the host Lakers to a 71-61 victory over No.10 St. Vincent Pallotti in a Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association BConference game Friday night.
Rees shot 10-for-14 from the field and made eight of 11 free throws.
Brendan Fields and Blair Brooks added 14 points apiece for the Lakers.
Marcus Scott led Pallotti with 21points, and Marcquise Reed scored 19.
Boys' Latin (11-3) led by as many as 12 points in the third quarter, but the Panthers (13-4) cut the lead to five by the end of the quarter and to two midway through the final quarter.
But Pallotti scored just three points in the final 3:50 as Boys' Latin pulled away.
Digital Harbor was down 9-1 in the first quarter but fought back and trailed Lake Clifton by three at the half. Down by 10 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Rams came back, with Robinson making clutch free throws and Donte Lloyd handing out six assists. Ian Thomas and Deshawntae Lloyd combined for 21 rebounds in the win.
No. 1 St. Frances 48, Loyola 37: Maurice White scored 16 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, as the visiting Panthers (15-1) held off the Dons in an MIAA A Conference game.
Loyola was down by just three at the beginning of the fourth quarter but was unable to pull off the upset. Kurk Lee Jr. added 12 points for the Panthers.
No. 12 Poly 57, FAET 30: John Crosby, Darius Kelley and Eric White combined for 36 points as the Engineers (8-1) cruised to a win in a Baltimore City League game. Darrell Shaw added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the win.
No. 7 City 92, Baltimore Freedom Academy 13: Tim Bond scored a game-high 16 points and the visiting Knights (9-1) rolled past the Barristers. City led 52-5 at halftime.
Centennial 65, Long Reach 50: Omari Ringgold scored 31 points as he shot 12-for-17 from the field to lead the Eagles over the host Lightning in a
Ringgold, a guard, also had five steals and six rebounds.
Atholton 55, Marriotts Ridge 41: Luke Casey scored 12 points to power the host Raiders (6-4) past the Mustangs.
Atholton led 19-10 at the half.
Annapolis Area Christian School 77, Gilman 64: The host Eagles (8-3) used an up-tempo game to break down the Greyhounds' zone defense in the second half. Taylor Leabhart had a game-high 26 points for Annapolis Area Christian School.
Roland Park led 32-24 at the half.
No. 3 River Hill 45, Oakdale 21: After losing the opening match at 170, the Hawks (16-1) won the next six.
River Hill won seven matches by pin, getting victories from Michael Beck (106 pounds), Taariq Mohammed (113), Patrick Linden (126), Lee Carter (132), Brian Kirby (182), Cory Daniel (195) and Justin Nestor (heavyweight).
