The talented freshman led the No. 1 Eagles to three victories last week, including wins over No. 4 Poly and No. 5 Digital Harbor in the 17th annual Basketball Academy at Morgan State. Jones, a 6-foot-1 forward-guard, scored 28 points — including two 3-pointers — and added four rebounds in the 63-45 win over Digital Harbor, and she had 22 points and 10 rebounds in the 64-44 win over Poly. She also had 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 69-32 win at Dunbar. A veteran of the Fairfax (Va.) Stars AAU team, she has a 3.9 GPA in Aberdeen's Science and Mathematics Academy and is considering becoming an engineer.
