Aprilia begins price reductions on V-4 models

Share

Aprilia surprised some in the motorcycle community this week -- including this rider -- by slashing prices on models featuring its admired V-4 engine. The price reductions apply to the company’s 2012 Tuono V4 R, RSV4 R APRC and RSV4 Factory APRC.

As part of an initiative dubbed “V4All,” the Italian manufacturer is hoping to turn lower prices, and its recent second SBK World Championship title, into stronger sales in the American market.

The Tuono has been reduced by $2,000 to $12,999, the RSV4 R by $3,000 to $13,999, and the RSV4 APRC by $4,000 to $18,999. All three bikes come standard with the company’s APRC package, which stands for Aprilia Performance Ride Control, and includes traction control, wheelie control, launch control and quick shift capability -- features the company developed on its way to 2010 and 2012 superbike championship runs.

The company’s new US-and-Canada-only RSV4 Factory APRC model, announced just last month, will also benefit from the V4All program. Units of that bike, when it becomes available in US stores in April, will be priced at $19,999.
