Words fail, but the music of Johann Sebastian Bach does not. For the victims and survivors of San Bernardino, the bass aria “Mache dich, mein Herze, rein” (“Make thyself clean, my heart”) from the St. Matthew Passion, sung by the incomparable Walter Berry. An anthem of grief and hope, and seven minutes of solace.
