Discuss the first installment of this week's Dust-Up between Dan Schnur and Bruce Cain
Comments will close after two days.
From the Los Angeles Times
I still think there is the distinct possibility that aliens from outer space invaded John McCain's body. Either that or like countless politicians before him, he sold his soul to the devil (GOP $$$ machine) for a real shot at the White House.

McCain lost day one when he decided to run. Basically Bush put Obama in office. In our recent history no presidnet has been hated so much and unpopular then Bush. In addition McCain is veiwed at just an extension of Bush. I am a Republican and when does it soak into these idiots that we are broke and sick of being the global police. These idiots deserve to loose and for the first time in my life I am voting Democrat. Go back to Crawford and live with cows where you should of stayed.

McCain placed ambition above the welfare of our nation in selecting Palin as his VP. In doing so, he sold his soul. His campaign consists of attacks on Obama that are filled with lies or of proclamations, without explication, that he knows how to fix this or that problem. He repeats endlessly, "I've been tested." How?? Being a POW subjected to torture and who, as most in similar circumstances, broke under torture gives McCain no more ability in foreign policy than Palin acquires from Alaska's proximity to Russia.

Even Neil Cavuto has criticized McCain's economic policies. FOX news Cavuto. Leading GOP "elite" have concluded that Reaganomics of the 80s are no longer prurient today. Even the, it was specious at best. Trickle-down economics is now labeled voo-doo economics. It didn't work then and it won't work now. Hard core right wingers hold on to the Reagan model. But it doesn't hold water today. The GOP needs to shut down and re-make themselves. This coming from the GOP themselves.

For the person who voted for Hilary Clinton in the primaries and now voted early for McCain. Your logic throws me. Clinton=liberal politics. McCain=neo con, conservative Bush politics. Only one conclusion. White is right. Clinton and McCain are polar opposites. You sir (or m'am), are an idiot.

Don't blame to press for the failure of McCain. McCain's fumbled campaign is there for all the world to see. Ask why the press didn't push harder on McCain's endorsement by racist, anti-Semite, Rev. Hagee? A man who said God "created" Hitler to rid the world of Jews. This is nothing compared to Rev. Wright. Ask McCain why he gave Rashid Khalidi over $5,000 and more to study Palestine? Where was that coverage? McCain/Palin pushed for the Bush Bank Bailout. Are they socialist? McCain left his first wife after she suffered a terrible accident. Why wasn't this covered? McCain was involved in an extra-marital affair while married to Cindy.

Yes, McCain is a war hero. He was a tortured POW. He campaigned for years to preserve the Geneva Convention and against torture. But he broke. He sold out. No beatings by "charlie". This time it was Bush. This is evidence that McCain's campaign is one of expediency. People still question they don't know Obama. But we know McCain. His history is clear. And it shows a series of consistent missteps. Bad judgment. And his close association with G W. Bush, Cheney and co.

McCain has a long history of being a reactionary. A man that goes on gut rather than rational thinking. His hot temper. He is impulsive. A bad behavior to have to be the President. He is a whiner. He has the emotions of a baby as he stomps his feet and hands when he throws a fit. So he resorts back to fear mongering in these last few hours of the campaign. Meanwhile, Obama is calm. Collected. Presidential.

McCain and GOP has created this rift in our country. By name calling and fear mongering and eliciting the help of racist bigots, McCain still insists he will try to heal the country and reach across the aisle. But when asked by Gibson whom he would reach to, he named the same old cronies like Lieberman. Instead, he should have said he'd try to reach over to Nancy Pelosi. I guess McCain can't reach that far. But when asked the same question to Obama, he said he would include Republicans in his cabinet. It would be all inclusive. Right answer. He would surround himself with the most talented people in their areas of expertise.

As I campaigned for Obama today in Pennsylvania convincing last minute undecided voters to vote for Obama (and they are now) the spoke to me about how the negative campaign ads by McCain have hurt his prospects for President. These people do not care about Ayers, Wright, or the bigoted claims Obama is a Muslim or an anti-American. Well, they just don't believe the lies. Listen, you core morons can go rant all you want about Hussein Obama. But it's not working. It's the economy stupid. And McCain blew it. "The economy is strong." Boom, the bottom falls out. And McCain has egg on his face.
