PG&E; seeks to study ocean wave power

Pacific Gas & Electric Co. plans to file a federal application to study a section of ocean off Humboldt Bay to produce electricity from the power of waves.
The preliminary permit application to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is the first step in the possible development of the project.
