Burger King’s new French Fry Burger puts the fries under the bun

Forget the old-fashioned hamburger with a side of fries. This fall, Burger King is offering a burger with the fries built right in.

On Sept. 1, the fast-food chain will introduce the French Fry Burger, a standard hamburger with four French fries inserted between the beef patty and the bun, the Associated Press reports.

The French Fry Burger may not be a complicated culinary offering, but it is cheap: The burger and four fries between a bun will cost you just $1 from Sept. 1 through the end of the fall, according to the AP report.

And if the four French fries in the burger curb your craving for a side of fries, you will save on calories: The French Fry Burger has 390 calories, while a burger and a medium side of fries will run you 650 calories, according to information on the fast-food chain’s website.

The $1 French Fry Burger may help Burger King compete with McDonald’s, which has been heavily promoting its Dollar Menu since the beginning of the year.

In the last quarter, Burger King said sales at its North American restaurants fell 0.5%, while McDonald’s saw a 1% increase in the same time period.
