Some of the top employers looking to hire in Los Angeles include fast-food chain McDonald’s and healthcare provider Kaiser Permanente.

That’s according to a new report from job site SimplyHired.com, which took a look at the companies posting the most job openings in cities around the country.

In Los Angeles, McDonald’s currently has about 1,600 jobs open in the city, while Kaiser Permanente has about 1,500 positions available. 24 Hour Fitness (1,200), USC (900) and Citigroup (775) round out the top five.

Kaiser Permanente ranks as the No. 1 company looking for new employees in the San Francisco region, with 2,850 open jobs. Unsurprisingly, the Bay Area roster is filled with tech companies, with Apple in second place with about 1,600 jobs, followed by Sutter Health (1,400), Deloitte (1,200) and Genentech (950).

There was an uptick in new jobs available in 49 out of the 50 biggest U.S. metro areas last month, SimplyHired.com said. The number of job listings jumped 7% from the previous month, with Los Angeles and Sacramento among the cities showing the biggest increase in job postings.
