why use all the money fighting drugs. they are out there if they were legal we would have no pushers buy at your discretion. no big bucks no pushers no over flowing prisons no new taxes get rid of the drug war and do it fast save us all

drug are drugs whether legal or illegal. stop locking people up for usiny or selling drugs. we are tired of all this nonsense. drugs are not the problem politicians are the problem. they enact all these nonsense laws and then have the guts to ask for your vote. go away you hippocrites get a ten dollar an hour job and adopt a couple of prisoners with your tax dollars and smile like we are supposed to do. STOP ALL THE DRUG WARS POLICEMEN GET A JOB CLOSE SOME OF THE PRISONS BRING NON VIOLENT INMATES HOME MAKE LIFE EASIER FOR EVERYONE

I can see decriminalizing marijuana, it's relatively benign and doesn't mess people up. I live in CA where it is legal for medical use with a prescription and there really isn't any problem with it, on the other hand I would not want to see meth, heroin, or crack decriminalized. People die from those drugs. All the time. But would more die if decriminalized? Only one way to find out. If not, we could save a ton of resources trying to catch the dealers.

For the most part, I agree with Nadelmann; the way most illegal drugs are viewed in this society is heavily biased in the negative. What we need in terms of drug policy are laws that mandate treatment and support, instead of punishment and incarceration. If we legalized and regulated drugs and took the criminal justice system out of the equation, we'd see a lot of the problems we associate with illegal drugs virtually disappear.

These drugs are illegal because the powers that be want them that way. There is no other setup that can make so much money as the way things are presently concerning these substances. I think it is no coincidence that most illegal drugs were made illegal as alcohol prohibition was ended in the 1930s.. Because otherwise, we would have ended the prohibition madness decades ago.

Cont' Legalize the drug and control it like alcolhol and tabacco, which by the way kills more people in a year than illegal drugs kill in 5, penalize the people just like driving drunk, and put all the drug dealers and gangs main imcome, out of business. But what the govenment does is let the gangs sell the drugs, make the money and then bust them and keep the money. Gangs in america work for the government, and make profit from the anti-gangs and anti-drug programs. No gangs, No illegal drugs means no funding for most the these programs.
