I am always amazed how an entire class of people--children--are left out of "rights" debates. Worthy parents are not self-focused; they realize that their relationship with their spouse and children is one of sacrifice, not demanding. This is for the good of children and the general society. There is nothing hateful about recognizing this.

If opponents of Prop 8 considered it wrong, discriminatory and hateful then they should not have participated in the
election. What is the used of letting thousands of people vote and if the outcome is against you, you seek to have it overturned anyway. Opponents of Prop 8 should have boycotted the election and just should have went straight to the supreme court, but they did participate and now should have the honor of upholding the will of the majority.

The people spoke twice...get over it. Prop 8 is here to stay! The only thing I want to see change is the office of the Governor. No more taxes....period. Cut spending and give incentive businesses the opportunity to grow and relocate to California. This democratic welfare state we live in ios headed form financial ruin. You think Wall Street got hit hard, what until our bond rating drops and the state can't borrow anymore.

Arnold is a disgrace to his party for not backing Proposition 8, but more importantly the will of the people. His entire campaign against Bustamante and McClintock was being a populist. He's shown to be a populist only when he agrees with the people. Prop 8 was about morals which have existed in our country since its foundation. The only thing I'm intolerant of is the attack on traditional marriage and our country's moral foundation. If it weren't for religion, this country wouldn't have been founded. Marriage is not a right, but a privilege which was originally bestowed by God. Live how you like, just don't call it marriage.

The Governor twice vetoed legislation that would have granted marriage equality to gay Californians. He wanted to see it go through the courts, which it did. Where was his leadership prior to the vote? Prop 8 passed because of a mendacious campaign that played to the voter's fears and prejudice. Frank Schubert is an immoral man for leading such a dishonest, Rove like campaign. The Supreme Court must overturn this discriminatory, hateful amendment to our state constitution.
