The Governor has literally a warehouse for of weapons, but won;t let me have mine? And he's got a security detail to protect him as he travels in up-armored vehicles, while we all walk the streets alone? What's wrong here?

I find it hilarious that everyone is complaining about proposed cuts when the treasury is bleeding 500 million dollars a month. California taxpayers pay more taxes than just about everyone. There simply isn't any more money to take in aside from simply hoping the economy drives up the revenue. I suppose we could sell our children and grandchildren down the river again and take out another 40 billion in bond money. I guess it doesn't matter as long as pot smokers don't get out of prison.

neotrebror.....nunez is not his puppet but his puppetmaster. I am so disappointed in his support for this proposition. I am voting no on everything he supports, I feel he has betrayed us.

Look, I'm no Arnold fan. I'm a Democrat who was furious when he was elected and when he wasted all our money on his special elections, BUT, it so SO refreshing to see and hear him basically *apologizing*! How many times have you heard this out of BUSH or CHENEY or ANY other politician? He admitted he was wrong and is LEARNING from his mistakes and TRYING to do the right thing, which is to balance the states budget. I know you all like to live above your means, but you CAN'T anymore! Just look at the housing market!

We went from weenie Davis to the Terminator and somehow I feel like we're still lost somewhere in OZ, trying to find the yellow brick road and all the while trying to remember, 'there's no place like home'!! We went from a real comedian to a real character, both with scripts to be flipped whenever the circumstances fit. Money, money everywhere, except for the people of the state of California. Am looking so forward to 2010. I can only hope the potential candidates have a real heart to create the changes needed in Sacramento. It would be a dream come true to find someone who really did serve the people and not the special interests!!

The governor talks about leadership but then admits he cannot exercise it. Here is what he says in the interview: "I can't look at it and say, 'Education is more important than keeping our people healthy; or education is more important than law enforcement.'" That is what leadership is all about -- making hard choices and helping the electorate understand why it is necessary.

Fixing "levies" is one thing. Fixing levees is another. I see someone else has commented about this. Let's hope the Times editorial board has not been so decimated by layoffs and buyouts that it cannot tell the difference.

CALIFORNIAMARTY SAYS: He said nothing about fixing the problem of runaway film production to Canadian venues like Toronto, Montreal, Alberta, and even Nova Scotia. The producers go all the way there because of credit incentives they passed to bring the billions that would be spent in California in clean filming spending to their vendors, hotels, restaurants, vehicle rentals and sound stages. THE STATE ASSEMBLY PASSED A BILL TO KEEP THE PRODUCTIONS IN CALIFORNIA AND PERATA KILLED IT. ARNOLD HAS BEEN SILENT ON THIS HUGE ISSUE FOR CALIFORNIA.

I see Schwarzenegger still thinks his 2005 Special Election was a good idea. Remind me again, why is this guy so much better than Gray Davis?
