  • Send Bratton back to NY. Lets trade Bratton in for Sheriff Arpiao. Joe Arpiao will get the job done. PS: don't forget to vote for Walter Moore for L.A. Mayor.

  • Is it a coincidence that Bill "Go Back To New York, Please" Bratton discussed this with LAT the day before stories in the LAT and DN appeared about charges of racial profiling within LAPD? Are these criminally-afraid pols and Bratton more frightened of law suits than they are of stray bullets from illegal alien gangbangers guns hitting one of us or one of them and their family members? We need a total change including the Times' philosophy of aiding and abetting the pols and the police in protecting illegal aliens. waltermooreformayor.com is the answer!

  • Tito Flores' comment expressed the following sentence: "Go back to New York where you belong and take Villaraigosa and the other "wet back" supporters with you! We Angelenos need to take our City back!" Well, such racist slurs target a sizable portion of native, aka real, Angelenos. Perhaps it's those who disdain them that should leave our city. Bigots don't speak for LA. Bratton is to be commended for standing up to these voices of intolerance, and remaining rational in the face of it. That's true leadership.

  • Bratton is just following orders from Villar. Villar is an illegal immigrant advocate and sees them as his base. Why deport your base?

  • Its ironic that Chief Bratton says that ICE doesn't have the capacity in terms of cell space to arrest and hold all of the illegal aliens that LAPD takes into custody. DUH! 25-30% of ALL inmates in California are illegal aliens. Perhaps if we enforced our immigration laws, secured our border, and deported criminal aliens when they have served their time, we would begin to get some relief from this revolving door of criminality. We'd probably begin seeing some gang crime go away as well, as the gang bangers would be south of the border. Is this really that difficult?

    Jeff Scott @ 7:51 PM PDT, Apr 29, 2008

  • So Bratton says "ICE thinks the world of us". Who is he trying to kid? Bratton, you are an absolute idiot! Go back to New York where you belong and take Villaraigosa and the other "wet back" supporters with you! We Angelenos need to take our City back! Enough is enough!

    Tito Flores @ 2:29 PM PDT, Apr 29, 2008

  • Section 269 of the LAPD code already defines gang membership, and American law already defines what an illegal alien is. How does race enter into this?

    Chris @ 12:57 PM PDT, Apr 29, 2008

  • Notice Bratton often says "this city" when referring to Los Angeles. Never "our city" or "my city". I think he wishes he never came here.

    Phil Apino @ 12:54 PM PDT, Apr 29, 2008

  • Mr. Bratton Whether or not the "wording" is correct, the facts are legal American citizens are being harmed and killed by illegals everyday. IF LA actually enforced our immigration laws, this wouldn't be so. The truth is very simple everyone...only the Times and Bratton and Villaraigosa making a simple concept a complicated one...because they want to confuse you. Walter Moore will not confuse you. He makes it very simple to understand. The truth is simple and Walter Moore has it.

  • This morning public comment at City Hall is stacked with young people (Latinos) OPPOSED to more cops, & letting cops ask illegal status under SP40 - they demand hundreds of intervention workers for gangs & jobs for all who want them. Radical leftist Jackie Goldberg and the Mexican Councilmembers support this, use the "kids" as their mouthpiece. TOO BAD, taxpaying citizens demand cops to arrest gangs -- these same Mexican/lib pols tax the bleeding middle class to exodus, gangs are in OUR streets now, & if they want to create jobs, need tax INCENTIVES to go into bad areas, not more tax, tax, punish schemes.
