Debt-buying mogul Andrew Zaro buys a new build in Beverly Hills

Andrew Zaro, chairman of the debt collection company Cavalry Portfolio Services, and his wife, actress Lois Robbins, have purchased a home in Beverly Hills for $11.375 million.

The newly built house, on more than half an acre in the Trousdale area, features a contemporary aesthetic with gallery walls, vaulted ceilings and formal areas that open to an infinity-edge pool and spa. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls and windows center on cityscape and ocean views.

Inside, a lounge-inspired living room with a wall fireplace anchors the open-area living space. There’s also a dining room, a contemporary-style kitchen with a breakfast bar, an office/library, a media room, four bedrooms and five bathrooms within about 5,500 square feet.

Outdoors, adjacent to the pool area, is an outdoor fireplace and a kitchen/bar.

Among a number of new developments in the affluent area, the property came on the market in March with a list price of $12.85 million. It had sold for $3.95 million in December 2012, records show.

Kurt Rappaport of Westside Estate Agency was the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service. Josh Flagg of Rodeo Realty, Beverly Hills, represented the buyers in the sale.

Zaro, a member of the Zaro’s Bakery family, founded the debt-buying service in 1991. The company has 600 employees and offices in Arizona, Minnesota, Oklahoma and New York.

Robbins is a television and film actress best known for her roles on the daytime television dramas “One Life to Live” and “All My Children.” She is set to appear in the upcoming film “Ithaca” starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
