Chargers tight end Antonio Gates seeks $3 million for Hollywood Hills home

Share

San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates is ready to play ball for his home in Hollywood Hills West, listing the four-story contemporary for sale at about $3 million.

The decorated pass-catcher bought the house two years ago for $1.66 million and has tuned up the interiors during his ownership. Living spaces feature layers of pale hues and subtle textures for a subdued, coastal ambiance. In certain areas, decorative accent walls provide an eye-catching splash of color.

Within more than 4,400 square feet of interior space is a formal living/dining area with an aqua-tinted fireplace, an updated kitchen with a wine cooler, a media room, five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. A swirling chandelier fixture tops a two-story entry.

Spanning the entire fourth floor, the master suite has a built-in vanity, a glass-enclosed shower and a balcony that overlooks the rear of the property. There’s also an elevator serving each level.

Outdoors, a rear patio holds a swimming pool with a spa. Another terrace patio extends off the front of the home and takes in mountain views.

Brittney Hinds of eXp Realty of California holds the listing. The exact list price is $2.999 million.

Gates, 36, has made eight Pro Bowl teams in 13 seasons with San Diego. The veteran is the Chargers’ all-time record-holder for receiving yards (10,644) and touchdown catches (104), and is eight TDs shy of Tony Gonzalez’s record for the most scores by a tight end in NFL history.

He signed a two-year, $12-million contract extension with the team earlier this year.
